ok so first lets make a new project, i will make mine 1920x1080 set to 72dpi and a background color of black

next i will select a font and put the name i want

if you need to seperate the spacing between the letters you can use a technique call "kerning". kerning is manipulating the space between individual letters in a word, you can achieve this by setting your bar between the desired letters and while holding "alt" press the left or right arrow keys until your text is in its desired position like so

now we can start adding effects, first thing we will add is a color overlay, to add an effect you can "fx" button at the bottom of the layers panel located here

i will set the color to a red medium color (here are the RGB values)

next we will add a inner glow, here are the values i am using

next we can add a inner shadow, the values for this is

now we will add a drop shadow, this value we will set as shown

you should now have something like this
You must login or register to view this content.

what we will now do is rasterize the type, and the layer style, you can do that by right clicking on the layer like this(same for the layer style)
You must login or register to view this content.

now you should have no effects under your layer, like this

no we are going to add differrent layer styles to the new image we created, the reason we rasterized the type and the layer style is so that we can add new layer styles that will not affect the effects we've already made... make sense? good, moving on

now we will add a stroke to our new image, these are the values (the stroke size is 7)
You must login or register to view this content.

next add a gradient overlay, these are the values i set on mine
You must login or register to view this content.

once again we will rasterize the the layer style (we do not have to rasterize the type again because it is still rasterized from before
now our image should look like this and have no effects under the layer icon like so
You must login or register to view this content.

next i add a inner glow effect with the values of
You must login or register to view this content.

last i will add a bevel and emboss, these values i will set to
You must login or register to view this content.

rasterize it one more time and an inner glow with the values of

if done right you should end up with a sweet custom 3D looking text like this done entirely in photoshop
