Step 1 - Making your work space!

This is not that important, but it needs to be done. Make your work space any size you like, i would recommend you to use the sizes i do. 1280x720! You will need space to work on a logo, if you like to plan a logo design, then you can write notes. This is not required, but please make sure that you have space to work with.

Step 2 - Help picking your colours... * Optional*

So using the right colours is crucial in my opinion. The colours that you use will have a big impact on how your logo turns out. If you use basic, clean colours you will get a result you wasn't expecting. You want your logo to look clean, and professional. You don't want to go using colours like BRIGHT PINK for a logo. You should use simple, and clean colours. This will make the difference. This is not required, you can use any colour(s) you like.

Step 3 - Using the Pen Tool.

This tool can make magic happen. It plays a big part in logo design. What is the pen tool? The pen tool is the core of designing custom shapes. You can make anything you like with this, you can use the pen tool to create a 'path' which can be used to make a 'stroke' and many more options. For this tutorial, we will be using it to fill the path with our colour. You can bend paths, you are not limited to straight lines like we used in this tutorial. Using dark shades of your main colour will give it a 3D look.

Step 4 - Making shapes

Time to play. Mess around with the tool until you're happy with the way it looks. If you delete the patch, Ctrl + Z will make it appear again. So, be creative, maybe take a look on google for inspiration. Once you have created a path, right click inside the path that has been made and you will be given options to Fill, Stroke and many more. You want to 'fill' the path and then select 'colour' which will ask you to pick a colour or you can copy the colour code from the combo you have chosen in Step 2.

Here is what i was able to make:

Step 5 - Giving it a 3D look

This is what i find the best part. Making it look 3D and clean. You can use darker shades of colours to make it look 3D. There isn't much i can say on this, but take a look at the final result of my logo i made in this tutorial. Use darker or lighter shades to give it a 3D look.
