"Don't use PSNinja, use webMAN's integrated syscall disabler with R2 and Triangle, and if that doesn't stop the black screens, try starting it on Release mode from the debug menu or get a debug EBOOT granted you're on DEX." (iDeity) It’s actually psnpatch that’s giving me the problem. I use that to spoof my CID befo...

"np lmk how it goes :)" (BurtE) Also i don't quite understand what i did wrong to receive such an error. All i did was use the ps3 for oldschool games on PS2 and PS1 emulators that come with rebug or multiman or something.

"np lmk how it goes :)" (BurtE) IT WORKED! So, to be fair, i really couldnt find any 3.55.4 DEX on the rebug website. I tried 3.55.4 RE, but it said "no applicable data was found" when i tried to install it I just tried my luck with the 4.65.2 D-REX (since it was asking for 2.55 or above) and it installed! now the RSOD is gone! Im not sure if...

"1. Downgrade to 3.55 DEX.you will have the RSOD still. No XMB or anything. 2. Upgrade to 4.65 D-REX Rebug. This has an RSOD Bypass built in. 3. Run RSOD Fix pkg. 4. Update to whatever cfw you want (I usually install latest rebug)" (BurtE) Thank you so much! I will try it as soon as i get home..

"Could you take a picture of that message? Along with the weird lines or whatever in toolbox?" (Dog88Christian) I fixed it. the problem was the controller. my friend referred me to a different forum in which they talk about a debug mode problem and flickering text in multiman. The issue: the controller i was using was used from ebay. the analog...

"This only happen with these two applications? And are you installing the full version or partial? "You can format the hdd without losing the jailbreak.. 1. Boot ps3 into recovery mode 2. Select option "restore ps3 system" this will wipe everything, games, saves, etc when it is finished you will be brought to a black screen asking for your last syscall(last cfw installed) 3. Reinstall your cfw You'll lose your stuff but it won&#...

"I would say to try another firmware or video cables/hdmi cable, but If you think it is your debug settings, you can install a downgrader 3.55 and re-QA flag, in hopes that the settings will default.." (Dro) i changed firmware from 4.78 rebug to 4.80.1 rebug. i tried a whole new setup of cables and tv and still the same problem. i just re-qa fla...

"What I do is use duct tape and tape like 4 quarters to each other, so its just a taped chunk. Put the clip on on the NOR chip and tape that down hard. Lay the motherboard into the ps3, then lift it up a little and try to set your chunk of quarters right under where the chip will close onto it. Then you can tighten the two closest screws on the mot...
