"Just use an rtm tool with force host in it." (Coffee) Looks like I'm converting to DEX then?

"Just delete them from the XMB, and then to make sure they're gone, use mulitman/FTP (or whatever) to look in those folders and make sure nothing is remaining. I use multiman, so everytime Im in there, I just delete those folders completely....." (xNITEMAREx) Yeah but i data transferred to my OFW for to have my GTA IV mod menu for OFW. So i...

"Its all changed since then as now we have users just getting jailbroken ps3's just to mod gta... lol" (Coffee) Haha. Funny story. I created the NGU clan, look it up.. Founder: NGU_Gommy. The motto was "Strictly no modding" NGU_Gommy is now level 1001! Oops.. back then RTE'ing only had god mode and infinite ammo, nothing else, its chang...

"Yes but make sure you switch your kernel type before installing a dex firmware." (Coffee) Yeah sorry, i used to mod ps3 on NGU 2 years ago then stopped, trying to get used to all this again!

"Yes REX is equivalent to CEX standing for REBUG FIRMWARE (REX)" (Coffee) EDIT2: Now installing on the second screen, past the error message, thanks! PS: From rebug 3.55, I can go rebug 4.21 then convert to DEX right? Done new post so you saw.

"Because you are probably trying to install a dex firmware when your kernel is cex. You need to switch this out." (Coffee) No no, i used the master terminal, i name all my firmwares in their folders correctly and it comes up Data corrupted? REX is CEX version of rebug? used 4.70 rebug, 4.46 and 3.55 kmeaw. EDIT: Using rebug 3.55 in recovery mode...

This will sound completely retarded as i should know this but meh, aint modded PS3 in a year or so and completely forgot. 3.55 OFW > 3.55 GEOHOT OR 3.55 REBUG > 4.21 REBUG This works right and which 3.55 is best to go too. Only want 4.21 for PS2 placeholder/classics. Miss that San Andreas ISO with the Mod Menu...

"I would imagine it's similar to how you did it before, doesn't seem to have changed over the years. Simply spoof and use a PSID Patcher to change your CID if you're banned etc. The life of a CID really depends on the user, mine lasted for around 2 years or so, really depends :p" (Insight) How did you manage that? Mine went after 2...

"If I'm completely honest, I'm not too sure what a good CEX firmware is, I usually tell people to go DEX :p I hear people say that rebug make pretty good CEX firmwares though, so I guess you could have a look at them :) I believe they are called Rebug REX as opposed to D-REX which is their DEX series." (Insight) Right thanks, i probably...

"Hi Gommy! Modding on CFWs have gone a long way since 2011/2012. It is fairly simple to get online bower days, even with a CID ban as even public ones can be found. Transferring data should still work, however I believe it requires a CEX firmware, rather than a DEX firmware. CEX is closer to a normal commercial software, with unlocked abilities wh...
