Me and my friend just did FaceTime on our iphone 4's, and I was wondering if it costs money? We were using the Wifi in our houses...

It's free but for the first activation the phone will send 2 SMS to link the phone with the mobile number.

if you have an ipod touch, is totally free.

People are scared because Facetime needs their Apple ID account which is normally hooked up to a credit card.

Personally, I think facetime should have device email addresses, eg.
