(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As most of us are using HTC phones, and are experiencing issues with battery life, I have been researching on other forums and on the xda developers website, to see if anyone has come across ways to improve battery power to ensure the device can operate for longer hours than we are currently experiencing. and I am pleased to say that a solution is there and after carrying out the steps discussed on the relevant sites, the battery life has vastly improved on my Evo 4G and now it lasts for over 18 hours on one single charge.

The first post was to do with calibrating the battery.

The steps to calibrate your battery is by:

a) Charge till full when powered on
b) Power off
c) Charge till full again
d) Boot into recovery wipe stats
e) Boot and continue to use as normal

I know the above method might sound strange, but for many people this has solved the battery life problems and I think this has worked for me too.

2. UltimateJuice app

Download this app (free) and JuiceDefender (which is a paid app) from the Market. This app will solve the battery problems by managing connectivity WiFi etc) and other battery sensitive components.

I downloaded this app and my battery now lasts for over 18 hours on a single charge. I did the calibration method and this too increased my battery life.

This next app was advised by a friend of mine who works for HTC.

3. Fastest Task Killer app by jackso

Download this app from the Android Market, and in the settings, set the auto-kill frequency to 0, this will kill off all the apps running in the background which you don't use. You can tell it to ignore the important applications which you use and you would like to stay open in the background.

Try doing these methods and see how much the battery life improves. I am very happy with my battery life now as I don't have to worry about charging the phone every 5-6 hours and spending silly money on battery packs and extended life batteries which will make my phone look weird.

To fix the lags occurring on your phone, go to the following:

Settings> Applications> Development

Check the box labelled 'USB Debugging'

I have also downloaded an app called MemoryBooster Lite, this is pretty good if you want to boost the memory of your device if you experience slowness of any sort.

I hope this advice helps you guys and let me know if this has helped you in sorting out the issues of battery life.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the results as soon as I carried it out.

Just a little note, add advanced task killer to kill apps if you like.

Enjoy
