I don't own this device so I can't be of much physical help. Here are some links that may work.

Read through them first, the link to xda is for a Droid 2 root, but it will work for an droid x. If these don't work just browse those sites and you may find one that works. If you need more help let me know. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. I have a question though. Every tutorial says that I need to have PC mode on on my droid x but it doesnt show up when I connect it to my imac. Also, I turn on debugging mode but it doesnt turn on. Do you know why?

I had the same problem with my 'PC Mode' I found that it was because I didn't use the cord that came with my Droid, I used a random one I had. Are you doing the same? If not try re installing drivers.

When you turn on debugging what happens? Is there an error or anything? It may be the drivers here too.
Get back with me.

Tbh with you, I have no clue where the original cable is. Lol. My mom has the same charger and we change chargers almost every day. I lost track which 1 it is. But when I try both of them, the phone still doesnt pop up on my imac.

Try-
Lock your Droid X by pressing the top lock button
Plug the Droid X into your Mac via USB
Unlock the Droid X it using the on-screen slider
The phone should beep - if it does not try locking and unlocking again
Your Mac will install drivers if necessary
Slide down the notification menu and select USB connection
Select USB Mass Storage
You should now be able to load files to the SD card directly from your Mac

When you do that, instead of selecting Mass Storage can you pick Pc Mode?

Everytime I pick pc mode, it doesnt show up or if it showed up then I picked pc mode, it would go away and say that I didnt eject it correctly.

I'm not sure then. I don't have that device or a Mac so I really can't help. I'm sorry just use the websites I linked you earlier and maybe they can help you out.
