(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Just got this phone about 2 months ago and still no root. I love this phone but I would love to be able to have full root access. Anyone else have the Atrix HD? I love the phone its fast and vibrant decent battery life and has a great antenna. In my area I only have 4g (no lte) but I can still play mw3 online even though I have a strict nat. The only problem I see is that when I cannot take the batter out due to my phone locking up. Let me hear your thoughts on this phone.

Well I believe the phone just came out and because it has a locked bootloader it may take awhile for it to get root, but I have seen videos over at XDA showing one rooted. So it may take awhile for you to get custom rom goodness. After seeing what happened to the other Atrix's, me personally I will never buy a non-Nexus device ever again for the lack of support after 1 year, but congrats on your purchase. I also noticed your speed test is from Sayreville. Where you from in Jersey? I'm currently residing in New Brunswick

Bootloader has nothing to do with root, you can root and not unlock bootloader but to flash roms you have to unlock your bootloader and flash the .I mg for the clockwork mod or amon RA build for your phone

I understand that, to me there's no point if you can't unlock the bootloader. Having an unlocked bootloader makes everything easier. I was simply saying it was unlikely for a root to come anytime soon to a device from Motorola because of the locked bootloader. Motorola devices aren't support that well developer wise.

Actually all OEMs are now guilty of being buttheads. They are all locking their bootloader now, although I've heard of HTC having a way to unlock some now, but that still doesn't matter. The only good Android phone is a Nexus.

Galaxy s3 has a quad core 1.5 ghz processor with 2 gb ram on the Korean version, and HTC has a dev site where it lets you unlock any HTC phone with a generated key so there easy

From what I'm reading though is that some people got a dev version of the phone and it came with an unlocked bootloader which is why the 4.0.3 exploit works on most phones. Its rooting it with the office firmware still intact. I'm from the philadelphia area but the closest server with the best ping was in nj.

Edit** Having root on a phone with a locked boot loader would allow you to unlock it through the os. From my understanding, there is a folder which I cannot remember that is locked and signed on the AHD that would enable us to get root.

I'm from the US, so that international version doesn't fly here. Our S3 is a dual core.
