Well I believe the phone just came out and because it has a locked bootloader it may take awhile for it to get root, but I have seen videos over at XDA showing one rooted. So it may take awhile for you to get custom rom goodness. From what I'm reading though is that some people got a dev version of the phone and it came with an unlocked bootloader which is why the 4.0.3 exploit works on most phones. Its rooting it with the office firmware still intact. I'm from the philadelphia area but the closest server with the best ping was in nj.
Edit** Having root on a phone with a locked boot loader would allow you to unlock it through the os. From my understanding, there is a folder which I cannot remember that is locked and signed on the AHD that would enable us to get root.
