Before you all bitch and say, 'Gah, ANOTHER FUCKING THREAD ABOUT THESE TWO!'...Allow me to start off, I worked at Best Buy Mobile for roughly a year, and I've seen it all.

I'll compile this thread to the best of my knowledge about cellular phones, and what I've witnessed over this year. It's mostly opinion, but most facts.

I worked at the Best Buy in Central Mall in Northeast Texas, so we had customers ranging from 10-90. (Seriously)

To begin, let's start with iPhone devices. Fuck tablets. They're annoying, and I rarely sold them, other than iPads, because it's all this tiny town knows.

iPhones...sleek, beautiful display, easy to learn because Apple refuses to change anything, and they don't let you customize shit on it.

Let's face it, iOS fans. The ONLY decent thing about Apple is Cydia. Without the jailbreak, iOS is shit. Before you call me a raging non-Apple fan, allow me to emphasize, iPhone is my phone. I have had the Windows phone, Androids, Blackberry's, all of it. My absolute favorite is Apple. But we can go for one ages, it's merely an opinion. So here are the facts I learned while selling iPhones.

I sold iPhones mainly to customers who previously had, or have one. Now we did recommendations because it was part of our job. The iPhone was ALWAYS my first choice. Especially if the customer was old. It's much easier than an Android device. Why? Because Apple designed the phone to be simple, despite not changing shit other than the display resolution since the first iPhone. Hahah. No seriously, it was my number one choice. When I had customers come in looking for easy, contract phones, the huge Apple display is where I took them to. I usually scored, and set up their phones after selling it because of the whole 'WOW' program. (Walk Out Working)
I did well, considering the customers around here are very stupid, and they're all racist rednecks. People are afraid of change from where I am, so if they own Apple, it's all they'll ever own. But my wife did point out to me one day, that Apple has a HUGE fan base. You can't compete with someone like that. This is back when the news was glorifying Apple for their iPhone 5, before all the faggots came out with negative remarks regarding it. I have an iPhone 4s, and why would I upgrade to a larger screen, but the same features as before? Literally, nothing changes with their releases, but the hardware, processor, and a few iOS changes. Oh, and we can't forget the display. I can't customize my phone...at all. Unless I have this glorious monster that is crashing the shit out of my phone at the moment because it's still new.

Cydia. What jailbreaking your device does is turn your phone into an Android device. When I got the stubborn kids who complained they couldn't do much with an iPhone, I would tell them about jailbreaking it. Winky Winky
Of course, it's not illegal, and it does void the warranty, I emphasized that, but sometimes it would work. Other times, they wanted to keep their warranty, and went with Android. Seriously...aside from the crashing, Cydia is what makes the iPhones worth a shit. I love Apple, and I'll always own an iPhone, I just wish they'd change their software, and let us do more than what they offer.

This bring us to the Android.

My wife REFUSES to own an Apple phone, so she will only have Android. I recently bought her a Samsung Galaxy Slll.

She freaking loves/loved it. It won't seem to get old to her, and she finds new shit with it every. single. day. "Look Johnny! LOOK AT WHAT THIS DOES!" I assure you, she's not an imbecile. This is a chick who knows more about computers than most, has two degrees, including a masters in psychology. I wanted to buy her an iPad, hell broke loose. She reads books, everyday. We have literally hundreds if not in the thousands of books. Once we get our place, I'll have a bedroom dedicated to floor-to-ceiling bookshelves for these books. She wanted an E-Reader, and refused the Kindle Fire. Something about Amazon...some kind of smart shit, I forgot, so she chose the Nook Tablet. Some people we know got it for her for Christmas back in 2011. We still get books, just not as much. Thank God she's managed to go digital. But enough of that, as I tend to ramble.

Her device is quiet simply...glorious. That live background, the water thing it does when she unlocks it, all of the random shit you can do it, and the no crashing makes me want Android even more. I've had several Android phones over the course of my one year at Best Buy, and they all sucked. I even rooted my Droid X once for the WiFi tether. Over the time, I suppose Google has learned, and made it awesome, and faster, and much more reliable. I would have people come in with Razor flip phones, wanting to keep the damn thing, and asking me if I could sell them a Droid. Really? You ready for that much power from that, to this?

Weird. But most young people wanted Androids. I guess it's the customization that drove them to this phone. That, and the power to the people. (Or the awesome Samsung commercials.) I feel bad for Apple, as they've lost their number one spot in the market. My prediction? Samsung is going to be bigger than Apple. They have a few phones that get released every year, a couple of times. Apple has one...and doesn't so much to it but give it a faster processor and add an 's' after it.

I know it seems like I've bashed them several times, but I promise. I'm a loyal Apple fanatic. iPhone 4s, iPod 4th gen, iPad 2, and soon, an Apple TV. (It'll be hooked up through a Samsung smart TV, however.)

So to everyone out there, as an EX Best Buy Mobile employee, I'd toss out to everyone, that whatever phone you like, opinions aside- because that's all it is- good luck on choosing your next device. When you feel the need to do a poll asking which device to get, or create a new one asking for opinions, I invite you to come here. The mobile section on these forums stays dead. The only time it's busy is when an expecting jailbreak is on its way. I stayed glued to the iOS modding section daily for Evasi0n to release their jailbreak. If you're looking on how to jailbreak, go here> www.evasi0n.com Make sure your A-Device is updated to 6.1, or 6.0.

I honestly don't know why people create threads on "how to" jailbreak your device, when it's pretty self-explanatory on the computer screen. Just plug it in, and let it do all the work? Anyways, if you don't want to do this, go with Android.

The majority of people who choose Android is for the customization. My wife chooses it because it does everything she needs a phone to do, and then some.

The majority of people who choose Apple is because it's what they know, and it's what they trust. I choose it because it's gorgeous, sleek, and never crashes. (Until it's jailbroken)

Blackberry's...I had more customers return this phone than ANY other. That being said, this new Blackberry is too far behind to play 'catch up.' With the mobile industry constantly changing on a month basis, you can't introduce a new phone 5 years later, and expect consumers to go crazy over it. While at a Hotel once in Dallas for Best Buy, I was sitting at the bar and some guy came and sat down next to me and took out his blackberry, and was playing on it. I had to ask him what was so interesting in that fucking ugly phone. He told me he loved it because of the availability of his E-Mails. He was an airplane pilot, and he needed to check E-Mails constantly. I told him about how other phones have that too, and he laughed, and said, 'well, those drain your batteries.' Kind of a good point, but if you're looking for a phone you'll get sick of, and return it because you can't do jack shit with it, get a Blackberry. :y:

That concludes my stories, and my facts/opinions. Now I'll leave you all be, and listen to my music on my iPhone because it's amazing, and I love my Apple products. Despite them being all the exact same as day one. Winky Winky

I invite you all to like this thread, and maybe it'll become a sticky. I'd like to have at least one thread stickied on here, as I've been here for a while now. Thanks for reading, and feel free to comment, and all of that glorious stuff. :y:

I only came here to see which one wins in your opinion, I think Android is better. But these arguments never end so I won't point anything else out.
