So you just bought your new super OG, stat Instagram etc. and you need help securing it. That's what I'm here for.

We all know there are turboers out there, so swapping the name isn't the best idea when you first get your new Instagram.

What you will need:
- Access to an Email
- A SECURE password
- A Facebook (Optional, but HIGHLY suggested)

STEP ONE:
- Go to your profile
- Tap "Edit Your Profile"

STEP TWO:
- You're going to want to change the password first things first, so tap on "Change Password"

- You want the password to be something SECURE, so if you plan on making it Swag6969 or something simple like that, you probably won't be keeping the account for very long.
- I recommend using this website to encrypt your password... You must login or register to view this content.

STEP THREE:
- Now that you have a secure password, you want to head over to and Change Your Email.

- Make it something ONLY YOU have access to and that nobody would actually be able to get access to.
- You want to make sure this email is SECURE, You don't want people to manage getting access to your email and resetting the password to your Instagram.
- I DO NOT recommend using Yahoo because Yahoo is VERY EASY to social engineer into your account.

STEP FOUR (Optional, but HIGHLY suggested):
- Now that the account has all your secure information on it, you want to do this final very smart step to securing it.
- If you have a Facebook (make sure it's also SECURE, nobody should be able to gain access to this either) you want to link it to your Instagram, just in case the password you have set is registering as incorrect.
- So you'll want to go to your main profile again.
- Then you want to click on the top right button

- Press "Sharing Settings" and then tap the "Facebook" option.

- What this does is makes it so that if you forgot your password and can't access your email for some odd reason, you can reset the password with your Facebook account.
- After you've hit Facebook, it should take you to Facebook to allow a couple of thing and then it should redirect you and then the Facebook logo under "Share Settings" should be in color and next to "Facebook" should say your Facebook username.
- You may link your Twitter, Tumblr etc. if you'd like to make it more secure.
