I'd either go with what the quoted message above advises, or I'd just say save up and get a new one from the Apple store. While you can find them on other sites around the internet, the Apple store itself is the best place. Their great customer service and warranties you can set-up really isn't something you want to pass by.

This is merely a suggestion, of course. I'm honestly not exactly sure what other sites may offer, however buying it from Apple is [in opinion] the safest way to go when making a purchase like this.

Hi

You get a cheap iPod touch by buying an older model. If you know you’re going to be in the market for an iPod touch soon, check rumor websites and be patient. If you time your purchase just after new models are announced or released, you can get a deal.

Instead of buying the latest and greatest, buy the model that just got replaced. Retailers will still have inventory and may discount prices to clear space for the new models.

While this technique you may not get the latest model, you’ll still get a good, cheap iPod touch.

Thanks
