The current leader of Android smartphone processors is the company Qualcomm. Qualcomm's Snapdragon is found in popular phones such as the Galaxy S5, HTC One, Xperia Z2, LG G3, and more. It is without a doubt a successful company in the mobile phone industry, however the new MediaTek MT6795 is prepared to challenge the current chip.

MediaTek's MT6795 comes with a 64-bit architecture and octa-core setup. It is certainly future proof, and opens many paths for powerful handsets that come with more than 4GB of RAM. It also allows for some seriously powerful applications for our devices.
Following onto that, it will also support 480fps, 1080p full HD Super-Slow Motion video capture and Ultra HD (4K) video playback - an absolute revolution for small devices such as a mobile phone.

With all this in mind, the MT6795 is also predicted to sell for cheaper than the current and upcoming Snapdragon chips and in turn could lower the prices of new and powerful mobile devices.

It will be interesting to see how this processor will match with Qualcomm.
