1. It's a config file that loads of games use. It's not intended for hacks. It just alters the game's commands from one file.

3. Are you on xBox? I'm on PS3 and my update is showing 1.14. If you connect to xBox Live with it when trying to run MW2 then it's fine. You can easily run CFG.

xQuantumModz answered great, but I'll answer as well because I like when more then one people answer me.

1. buttons_default.cfg is an executable file inside of th patch_mp.ff in the game data utility. You can tweak it & the infections tell it to execute it. So a USB mode menu you can do quite a bit with with restrictions.
2. No. Just a USB flash drive with the buttons_default.cfg file on the root.
3. Delete your game data utility & re-install.

CFG is a form of coding (Configuration). CFG is not a hack, like all the little faggy kids call it, they tend to call everything a CFG Patch, even though a .cfg file is not a game update nor is it a FastFile (patch_mp.ff). So, in future call it a USB Mod menu.

To get a USB menu, just download one (there's about a million leeched USB mod menu's on YouTube at your disposal). Stick the .CFG files on the root of your Flash Drive (not in any folder). Put your USB in the right-side usb port, start MW2, play some matches of TDM or FFA and every player will be a screaming child wanting subscribers, and just ask them for a "CFG INFECTION" then if they can actually hear you from the constant button mashing to spam as much text as possible, they will invite you to a private match, from there you can ask him what to do next.
