I've been running "TheLightHacks" Patch_mp.ff menu for a while now (public and private matches), and all of a sudden, it stopped working. I can no longer press the up-dpad to open the menu. I downloaded a couple of other menus, with the same result. I deleted the Default_mp.self, and was able to use any menu in split-screen or private match, but no one was able to join my session, and I was unable to join theirs (I couldn't join a public match either).
I'm new to PS3 modding, and trying to find answers online simply results in a ton of unhelpful YouTube videos.
I'm running Rebug 4.46 CFW and MW2 1.14.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if you delete Default_mp.ff thats already a big problem if your tying to use a 1.14 patch , deleting default_mp.ff puts you on bypass ,try deleting mw2 on your game data then reupdate to 1.14 then put on your patch (dont delete default_mp.ff if your trying to host on 1.14)

After I deleted the .self file the first time, and realized that I can't access online with it, I deleted the MW2 game data, then let it update when starting the game. I then applied my .ff patch, but with no success. The Menu still won't open.

are you using a 1.11 mod menu or a 1.14 mod menu?

Okay, and I guess your still hoping for an answer to your question. By deleting the default_mp.self file, you are allowing yourself to go on bypass. If your friends are not on bypass, then they will not be able to join. Hope this helps you understand!

That makes sense. What I don't understand, though, is how I was previously able to play online games (without deleting the .self file), and use the menu. It stopped working mid-game. A black screen came up (the same screen comes up when you first select "Multiplayer" from the main MW2 screen) that said something along the lines of "Press X to continue using the menu". I was in the middle of the game and pressed O by accident. No menus have been working since. It's rather confusing.
Thanks for your answer, though. If my friends had 3.55 PS3s, then the problem would be more-or-less solved!

hello you have figured out how to make it work? I have the same problem

its because u don't delete your default_mp.self u just install 1.14 pkg file or update by disc then just copy the 1.14 patch over make sure the patch is your region works fine on mine =D
