For an actual 1.14 patch, you need a jailbroken Ps3.

Get the patch you want, put it on your USB, call it patch_mp.ff

Bring your USB to your ps3 and use whatever file manager you use. Copy the patch_mp.ff to dev_hdd0>game>[REGION HERE ex: BLUS30377]>USRDIR. It should overwrite the patch_mp.ff already in the directory.

Then data transfer if that's what you do, or sign in and play.
