Post: Modern Warfare 2 mw2_cloud_overlay for PC, help?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); "mw2_cloud_overlay" is a known command in zone file for Modern Warfare 2. It basically is the string of code that controls the background's color for the Modern Warfare 2 menu, as seen here: You must login or register to view this content. see how the background color is green? Anyway, I was wondering how can I do this for the PC version? I tried searching through files for that string of text but cannot find it for the life of me.

You would need to extract the .zone file from the patch_mp.ff I think, but I don't think anyone's made a tool for that

It appears that every time I try to extra the zone file from patch_mp.ff it says "this is not a ps3 zone", with one program I was able to just hit ok and it still extracted it, but when I replaced the file in my Modern Warfare 2 folder it gave me a black screen and nearly crashed my PC.

Ah ok I figured something out, the reason that the black screen is happening is because it says that the patch_mp is newer than the client, so now I have figured out that zone editing is the same way for PC than it is PS3, but now I just have to figure out some of editing the patch_mp.ff without replacing it by using a zone editor.

You could always replace a few images via editing the .iwi files but that's not really any .zone editing, the problem is that I don't think anyone's managed to decrypt the patch_mp.ff for pc though

I only found .bik and .iwd , not any .iwi files. Also how would I edit them, with notepad?

Sorry they are called .IWD not .IWI, you can open them using winrar but you can't edit them without photoshop
