You can't open a menu or get it to connect/attach? cause menus are basically all the same when it comes to opening.

Make sure you have CCAPI installed on both your PC and PS3. Then get the ip of your PS3 by viewing it in internet connection settings or debug. Then put it in CCAPI, connect to it and you shouldn't have problems with connecting/attaching.
