As for the "best and most active premium forums" that's great for you. I have access to the best and most active forums in all of the interests I have. I don't need to pay $10 to join any club, especially if you're in it.

What motivates me to stay here? How about the PEOPLE. You don't need to pay to enjoy peoples' company, and the GFX part of the forum is really the only part I give a shit about.

Helping a site and making it better is about more than just paying money. It's having a good presence, helping noobs, stopping trolls and having fun. That's what makes other people want to stay. Not $10 and giveaways. Though obviously that's really important to some people.

I didn't realize that knowing people required using the shout box. I've been on the forums enough to talk with these people and get to know them through that. I only have a little over 1000 posts, but almost all of them have to do with GFX forum posts.
