When you start making graphics professionally, you can have as big of an ego as you want. But right now you're not only not good enough, you're also not helping your rep by treating Capo like crap.

Listen, everyone makes mistakes. I'm sure you've (at some point in your 'career' ripped a copyrighted stock/render/c4d/etc. Maybe you didn't get caught, but you still ripped it. Everyone has. Hell, I didn't know I was ripping copyrighted stuff for a long time, and then I almost couldn't stop ripping.

So shut up, please, because you've made the same mistake, whether you know it or not.

Well from what ive seen i prefer his work to yours. So you are in no position to talk IMO, Ripping sucks, it causes problems and loses all trust, he was prepared to lie to everyone for the sake of SOTW and then you say we shouldnt treat him like crap? Frankly i dont even wanna know someone like that. Also his rep seems to be going up if you look at his posts, people are thanking him... Also its different with C4D's etc. You actually change them and add them to a piece of work, you dont take them and just use them solely, in fact that was a pretty dumb thing to say because thats unavoidable unless you want to pay for every C4D etc you use. Also most people use sites like planet renders etc. where people have actually posted their stuff for use, therefore its not ripping.

1. I don't care whose work you prefer. I know I'm good. I know I could be a lot better. Believe me, I'm on so many GFX forums where I actually have to look up to _everyone_ because their skills are so far above mine, that I'm used to being the 'weakest member on the board'.

2. Being worse than someone doesn't mean I can't talk. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the people who criticize professional artists aren't all necessarily professional artists themselves. They don't have to be. There's no rule saying "YOU HAVE TO BE THIS GOOD TO TALK ABOUT ART".

3. No, you shouldn't treat him like crap. All you're doing is hurting yourself, in the long run. You're showing yourself to have an ego the size of the sun, and a superiority complex that makes you think you can actually talk about other people like that.

4. I don't mean the types of c4ds you download in packs. Believe me, I've used them ad nauseam. I'm talking about c4d art, made for viewing purposes only and not for use as an effect in a tag. And not all renders on PR are legally cut. Granted, no one cares, but it's still ripping. Just a little thing to think about.

5. "Therefore it's not ripping". Really? You can rationalize ripping? So I have websites where I'll put up some of my tags and say "feel free to use as you wish, as long as you don't alter them". Can someone take a tag from there, enter it as an SotW piece, and claim it wasn't ripping because I allowed them for general use?

3.I dont have an ego the size of the sun at all, but you obviously dont take ripping seriously. Anyone who rips should be banned from the site IMO. Its not only lying, its wrong especially when the person who ACTUALLY made it probably put a lot of work into it. Its the principle. It makes you untrustworthy and you dont deserve any respect..

1. Take my words out of context and yes, it sounds like I have a huge ego. And every artist should have an ego. But only the best - the ones who can back up their ego with their art - should show it. But if you read the next sentence, it's obvious that I never said I was great. I said I was good. But I still have a lot of room for improvement.

2. Yes, I said that to conrad. And I said that to you. But I didn't say anything about his ability (or yours) to critique Capo. I said you shouldn't be showing the amount of ego you're showing.

3. I don't take ripping seriously? I've been ripped nine times. I've petitioned for two render packs to be taken off of PR because they include fan art pictures rendered by ignorant members of the PR community. I'm the most vocal person on [most] GFX forums about not ripping from sites like dA, because of the legal implications involved.

4. It's entirely avoidable. It just takes the initiative to look at the render and think "does this look like the original artist's style? Or could this be fanart?" All it takes is a little caring. Which you obviously have, if you're so outspoken about Capo's ripping of a tag.

5. I obviously didn't get what point? The one where you called me dumb?

6. You have every right to be angry. You have every right to lose all respect for Capo. But you have no right to insult him. You NEVER have the right to insult another human, not for a crime like ripping. Assault, sexual harrassment, murder... go ahead. Rip them apart. But not for something that can be forgiven, corrected, and (eventually) forgotten.

And talking about hypocrites, you just said twice in this post that I seem to think that ripping is acceptable. How the hell could you know me enough to think that? Please, if you've been on all of the GFX forums I've been on for the last 4+ years, tell me your names so I can confirm that you know me. Otherwise, take your own advice.

As a final point, I'm fine with losing your respect. I'm not taking your side, so I can understand your frustration. But I'm not leaving. I'm not going to change to fit in. I'm going to keep doing what I do, and do it however I feel is right. Maybe one day you can learn to respect me again.
