The game Alien Swarm for free!

Top down shooter mixed with L4D 'horror' elements with aliens! Looks like alot of fun. Servers are a bit overloaded but you should be able to download it. Have fun!

Great game, and it comes with the SDK to make your own maps.

Very team-orientated and if you don't co-operate you're not likely to finish the map. It's currently very short, consisting of only 1 campaign (Jacobs Rest) which has 7 missions. You can get to level 27, and then you can reset your rank and get 3 levels of medals,

Nope, it's a game made by a small team of people that Valve hired from the community and they released this free of charge. Lead and Gold is free for the weekend however.
