Have you ever tried to play Single player and had no idea what to do? Well here I will explain what Single player is and how to survive night 1. Single player is a survival game type. You have the day to build a shelter and expand. By night zombies and other monsters come to kill you. If you do not have a shelter built by night you will be killed. No doubt about it.

Don't worry if you don't understand something there is a video afterwards.

Night 1 Survival.

During the day of day 1, you have no tools other then your stick arm. You have to build a shelter by night. How hard is that? Well harder then you would think.

The first part of this tutorial is to gather wood by cutting down trees. This will help you build wooden planks. Wooden planks will then aid you into making tools. A good number of wood to gather is 11-15.

Next you will want to find the closest mountains. Here you will look for coal. You will now want to make a workbench. After you make the workbench make sticks 8 is enough for now. Now make a wooden pickaxe. Now coal is used to make torches to keep lighting. The reason you need lighting is because monsters spawn anywhere but where it is light. 14 coal is plenty.

Next collect some cobblestone by mining the stone around the coal. You will now want to make the following. Stone pickaxe, stone shovel and stone axe.

You now want to make a small area into the mountain of stone. 6x6x3 is a good size. Now you are going to want to make a bunker meaning since your height is 3 blocks high make 2 layers of stone one being on the top of the 3 blocks and 1 on the bottom layer of the 3 blocks high.

You have now enclosed your shelter. Make some torches from your coal and sticks. (You may need to make more sticks.) Place a few to keep monsters away from spawning close.

Skeletons carry bow and arrows so they can shoot threw your barrier middle hole. This is where a little safety area comes into play. At the back of one side of your 6x6x3 hole dig back a little ways around 2-3 blocks back. You will now want to start digging the other way so your main room of your shelter is in front of your safe spot. Make sure you leave 2 blocks wide in between the safe spot and the main room. This will keep you from the bow and arrows.

You have successfully created your first night shelter. You can now wait out the night or build on to your shelter. It may also help to make items you can use in the future.

Maybe you should add some pictures? Either way, it's a good guide. Also, give X some credit for the video.
