This is a 2 page setup tutorial to make your ps3 controller work as a 360 controller for those pc games that only allow 360 controllers, Works for Portal 2 for pc !
Download the PS3 DualShock3 Controller Driver file from origanal site You must login or register to view this content. or You must login or register to view this content. to your desktop.

Unpack the file.

Connect your PS3 controller to the computer using the USB cable. The lights on the controller should begin blinking.

Go to the Control Panel from the Windows Start menu and click on "Systems."

Click on the Hardware tab in the window that pops up, and then click on "Device Manager."

Click "Human Interface Devices" in the Device Manager screen. Underneath will appear the option "USB Human Interface Device." Right-click on this and select "Update Driver."

Click on "Install" from a list or specific location in the pop-up window. Select the "Don't search I will choose..." option on the next screen. Click "Next."

Click "Have disk" on the next screen and then choose "Browse" and select "Desktop." From there, click "ds3 drivers" and choose "ds3drv1.02." Click through until you get to the file beginning "Dual shock." Open this and install the file.

Go back to the control panel and click on "Game Controllers." Select "PlayStation 3 Controller" and go to Properties. Press the Home button in the middle of the PlayStation controller. You should then see the cursor in the box to the left of the window respond to your joystick when you move it.

unzip xinputemu3
start XInputTest.exe to test to see if your ps3 controller is connected.
navigate to the game you want the xbox emulator to work under so you can use your ps3 controller. c:/program files/GAMESCREATOR/THE GAME U WANT THIS ON/ and search threw its folders for a xinput1_3,
once you have found this make a new folder and move your games xinput1_3 to the new folder and copy the xbox emulator over in the place of the origanal xinput1_3 was.
now find your games.exe and copy your xbox emulator there
THIS EMULATOR SHOULD NOT HAVE TO OVERWRITE ANYTHING !!!!
if its askin to over write cancle and move the origanal file to a new folder to save it for if this is not compatible with the game, and then copy over ur xbox emulator files
start ups xbox emu n play ur game!

OR you could install MotioninJoy and let it do it all for you, then click "Xbox 360 Controller"... Then your PC thinks the PS3 controller is a Xbox one. Plus you can switch all the different controls and buttons you want.

that 360 controller emu if u open the text document with it u can switch the buttons on that. you will see the button layout and just change the buttons number on there to watever button u want, this was how i got the ps3 controller to work with the 360 emu.

Just seems a load if bother installing all the drivers and everything. With MotioninJoy, you plug in the PS3 controller, click install and voila, it works.
