Solution - InvEdit 9999 Health :carling:

When your mining your pickaxe should hit away most of the fire balls.

you could put 50 meteorite ore down there and it only spawns meteor heads

You can cancel them by not allowing them their required space to spawn.
Go all the way down to the BOTTOM
Keep on digging a 2x2 hole in the bottom so you can still get Hellstone.

If you want to loot the chests, you can just use gravity buff and waterwalking buff to bypass lava and keep on swinging your sword.
Then loot the chests quickly. Might want to have Necro armor or some other speed boosting piece of equipment.
