When was the last time you actually looked over the pages and was like, yeah I understand this. Well the things next tiem if you're waiting for your PS3 to install a game or Steam to update, have a look at one and look for the keywords:

User

Collection of Data

or collect, use, store and transmit technical and related information that identifies your computer, operating system, Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware

The awesome guys at Rock Paper Shotgun sent a lovely little email to EA about WTF'ry that was contained in the EULA for EA's upcoming Origin system. Whilst they never responded, their friends at Giant Bomb found that the EULA (which is available online) had been changed to something a little less frightening. Originally saying: “EA knows that you care how information about you is collected, used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and EA would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it ever use spyware or install spyware on users’ machines.”
