On the recent game event 'Blizzcon' Blizzard revealed that the 4th expantion pack for WoW will be 'The Mists of Pandaria'.

So far I've seen shared opinions about this expansion. Me personally will try it out when it comes out and then decide.

I honestly shocked by this expansion. It's almost as though Blizzard are desperately trying to kill off WoW by putting in a comical race which doesn't fit the established backstory, especially for the horde, a class which doesn't make sense and so oversimplifying the game that at this point I'm fairly sure there are people on this very forum who could write an algorithm to play WoW for them now. I've levelled a character to level 80, I've done the guild drama thing... honestly I'm over WoW and with Star Wars: Old Republic just around the corner, I don't think WoW has much time left as top-dog MMO

I couldn't have said it better, I heard rumors back before WotLK was released that this was supposed too come out instead of WotLK. I laughed it off as a relief when it didn't come out, and Lich King did instead. Then I read that Pandaria is real, And I am seriously thinking of selling my stuff and moving out of WoW.

I really cant understand why you think putting a comical race in the game is bad. As long as the racial spells are ok, I dont really see your point. Most people choose characters after their looks and racials, not lore or if they are comical. I personally play undead mage, which I do because its cool and has a goodracial for pvp. In wow we have Cows, dead people, murlocks, elfs, orcs and trolls. Tell meagain where the panda doesnt fit in. It might be true that they are trying to extend the games duration. But why shouldnt they ? As long as people are enjoying the game, I think they should keep on going.

Blizzard makes 12.99 Euro per month for each person that has a monthly subscribtion. I would estimate like 10 - 11 million players all over the world. You can do the math yourself Smile (and dont forget all the other services available. Server Transfer, Race / Faction Change, Name Change etc.)

When they are making this amount of money, why stop producing now ?

As long as people play it, they are obviously doing something right.

You are so wrong on so many levels. First off all, the pandarens have always been a part of the warcraft lore. They haven't been mentioned a whole lot but they've always been there, they even were a part of warcraft 3. Secondly, yes they are kinda comical, but so is the entire ****ing game. I mean, we already have Cow-men, gnomes, alien-squid-goat-gypsies and werewolves, so what is so damn horrible about them adding pandas to the game? And no, they are not "oversimplifying" the game, the only thing becoming simpler is the talent system which actually needed just that as it is pretty lousy in its current state.
Also, when they announced Cataclysm everyone was super stoked and thought it was gonna be an amazing expansion. Turned out is sucked so bad they lost several millions of subscribers. WoW is in need of something new and that is exactly what MoP will bring.
