The long waited, rumored, and highly anticipated title of The Elder Scrolls: Online has finally been announced via the June issue of Game Informer, a highly trustworthy magazine and internet source for everything videogame media. In this article, we'll be in a variation of locations, including Tamriel, Elsweyr, and our favorite and well-know Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls: Online has been developed by Zenimax Online Studios, whom have created mass destruction by mixing the vast landscaping, unique combat system, and phenomenal legends throughout the land, with a new addition to the franchise: massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG). As you play The Elder Scrolls: Online, you'll uncover a completely fresh story right out of the oven of Bethesda's highly creative team. The game is set a whole millennium before the period of Skyrim's events. And during this ancient time, Prince Molag Bal tries to consume all of Tamriel into his realm of unknown chaos.

"It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years," says game director and MMO enthusiast Matt Firor, who himself has developed the title Dark Age of Camelot. "The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise."

A very descriptive informational will be revealed sometime from mid- to late-June, so be sure to stay tuned. This information will include an enormous chunk of key items that will be included into the MMORPG, such as how solo questing will function, as well as public dungeons and parties. Also, a very unique and interesting style of PvP (Player vs. Player) has been included: A player driven conflict that has a bundle of three player factions (groups, parties) to engage in a battle royal, fighting over the land of Cyrodiil, and a spot at the Emperor's throne.

On May 4th, a teaser trailer will be released by Zenimax Online and Bethesda Softworks themselves, and later in the day a screenshot will be presented. This is all the information that has been given to us via Game Informer, and it's confirmed there will be a lot more released every week, including exclusive content, information about the three player factions, interviews with the artists and creative leads, and much more.

The Elder Scrolls: Online is set to be released in 2013 for both PC and Macintosh.

What do you think? Will The Elder Scrolls: Online be worth it? Here's some screenshots of the Game Informer June magazine issue!
