Doom 4 will eventually emerge from development hell, but exactly when is still uncertain. Bethesda Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Pete Hines tells Kotaku that id’s Doom 4 team has started over on a “new version” of the game after being unhappy with the initial quality of the game.
An earlier version of Doom 4 didn’t exhibit the quality and excitement that id and Bethesda intend to deliver and that Doom fans worldwide expect, Hines explains. As a result, id refocused its efforts on a new version of Doom 4 that promises to meet the very high expectations everyone has for this game and this franchise.
