The NACC is a partnership between Riot and the collegiate League of Legends community. Our goal is to create a competitive League experience for college students and award the winners prize money in the form of scholarships! Total prize pool for this year's North American Collegiate Championship is $360,000 in scholarship funds.

The NACC is broken down into three tiers of play:
Kicking things off in the Fall, Ivy League of Legends (IvyLoL) and Collegiate StarLeague (CSL) will launch two separate qualifiers in a league format, each spanning approximately four months. In early 2015, TeSPA and WellPlayed Productions will run shorter organized play experiences. These qualifiers take place over two weekends and are designed for players who are new to organized play or prefer a shorter qualification process. Each qualifier (IvyLoL, CSL, TeSPA, and WellPlayed) awards one playoff spot per region (North, South, East, and West), for a total of 16 playoff spots.
The top 16 face off in regional group stages to determine who’ll represent their region in the final four at the NACC Championship.
The top four college teams—one team from each region—make it to the Championship, hosted in Los Angeles. The Championship takes place in front of a live audience on an official Riot esports stage. At this level, players are guaranteed at least $7,500 in scholarships, and the players on the first place team each take home $30,000 in scholarships.
Any player registered as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited university in the U.S. or Canada for the entirety of the 2014-2015 academic school year can compete in the NACC.
Last year, 540 teams from more than 300 universities across the United States and Canada battled it out in the NACC, but this year's event is going bigger. This season, the event will span the entire academic year, and North America will be divided into four regions: North, South, East, and West.
Registration for the 2014-2015 NACC is now open, and qualifying rounds will begin in October. The series concludes in March 2015 when the top four teams will compete in Los Angeles for scholarship prizes. Below is a breakdown of the scholarship payouts for top teams.
- 1st place team: each player walks away with $30,000 in scholarship money
- 2nd place team: each player earns a $15,000 scholarship
- 3rd place team: each player earns a $7,500 scholarship
- 4th place team: each player earns a $7,500 scholarship
