Post: Getting a laptop

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, not anytime soon, but I'm getting a laptop for college and I thought I'd start doing some research.

First off, it's going to have to last a while.
Second, I'm willing to spend $1,250-$1,650.
Third, it must have a fingerprint scanner for security reasons.

So, basically, what kind of hardware do you guys suggest, and what company do you suggest. Please provide links.

I have a Lenovo T60 with a fingerprint scanner, wifi, bluetooth, and a 100GB HDD. The new models (T61 and above) have wireless 802.11b/g/n, bluetooth, nVidia graphics cards, and a wide screen display (though I prefer 1400x1050). Check out what Lenovo has to offer; their laptops are pretty sturdy and will last a while. They also have tablet PCs. You must login or register to view this content.

if youre willing to spend 1k then just buy a macbook and see if you can buy a fingerprint scanner separate.

i would go with a apple Mac because they are the most trusted but you need to be very carefull with them because they are small and can brake easily.

I would buy one with a HDMI output port and a good graphics card so you could play xbox/ps3 on it
