There are no set "gaming monitors" made especially for gaming. Just make sure it has at least 2ms response time, or lower. Everything else doesn't really matter, just make sure you don't buy a cheap one.

If you really want a good monitor stay away from TN panels and get an IPS LCD but make sure it has a decent response time.

just found one (asus) 25 icnhes with 2 ms response time Smile + HDMI

5 ms response time is almost as good as 1 ms response. You really dont feel the difference. If you have the money buy a monitor with a low response time and a a high refresh rate. I would personally wait for Sonys
new 3d gaming tv. Which has a built in splitscreen which allows two players to see two separate fullscreen images using stereoscopic active shutter glasses. Instead of having to view a splitscreen image, the PlayStation 3D Display overlays the images on top of each other, but each pair of glasses is synched to only one layer.
