(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hey guys, im in the process of building my first desktop pc and need feedback on how my planned build looks, any problems with it, or if it can be improved. Im running on a budget in the region of roughly $1300 (but as it is my first build i would like to stay at the lowest budget possible), what i have come up with so far looks a bit like this:

case: NZXT Guardian 921RB
psu: Corsair TX-750 V2 Power Supply
motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V LE Motherboard
graphics card: ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Overclocked 1GB
cpu: Intel Core i5 2500K
hdd: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB ST2000DL003
memory: Corsair Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
optical drive: LG BH10LS30 10x Blu-ray Disc Writer

questions:

1. in terms of gaming, how does this build rate? would it be able to play most of the games out in the market these days?
2. i havent included an ssd in my build, is it necessary?
3. can anyone recommend any alternative parts which may be cheaper and just as good as the parts i have found above? (pc parts are generally more expensive in australia vs usa)

Any 3.00GHz processor or higher is best for gaming and I would advise you to have around 6+GB Ram so 8GB is good. Everything you have chosen is good enough for high end gaming but it could be better. For your budget that is pretty amazing Smile

You don't need 8 GB to play a regular PC game.

I'm not saying you do I am saying that 8GB RAM can pretty much run any high end game along with a Intel i5 or i7 Processor Smile

My bad, I meant to say "You don't need 6 GB of Ram yet it would be nice to have it"

Thanks for the feedback mate...I would of loved to have a faster processor but here in Australia prices are marked up heaps

your fine. you can play mw2 fine with an i3 1st gen haha.

6gb of ram is kinda overkill, but hey it's nice to have (4gb recommended)

as your blueray wrighter... I've had tons of issues with them in the past, idk why. fails sometimes. make sure you keep drivers up to date, and get a 30GB SSD for your OS to run on. your os will be fast, and use your HDD for the data.

oh, and another thing... what is your cooling going to be? (fan or heatsink for your cpu)
