As requested by MBO and a few others, I have put together a component list for a £500 gaming PC.

This PC can fill the following criteria:

-Stay cool and quiet.
-Render video and edit them with speed.
-Not cost a **** load Smile

Parts list:

I have chosen these parts nearly completely for GAMING use. If you want to edit alot, I suggest getting a better CPU and worse GPU. Please take note to the options at the bottom of the list.

Sorry, but this build is miles better, only 505£ + £25 for Postage.
Just get an OS of Piratebay and burn it to a disc.

Also, they will build it for you if you pay an extra £15 and its much easier to order everything from the one place.

That build is hardly much better.

Test's have shown that a better CPU will only effect the framerate by say maybe a max of 4fps. But my GPU which is much better will have a massive advantage. Also the 6870 can't play BF3 on high and why did you pick an i5 2500k if you are getting a stock cooler?

No

6870 is much higher on the list there. It will easily play BF3 on high settings with an average resolution whilst maintaining a 45-60FPS.

i5 2500k is the best processor you can get for gaming at the moment (whilst staying at a budget), there is still a lot of games that are CPU heavy instead of GPU heavy, the best example would be Skyrim. If I can fit an i5 2500k into the build whilst staying around a £500 budget then why complain?

Problem Sir?
I would say get a GTX 560, Pre overclocked from amazon. You'd be able to run BF3 On max then, and its the same price as the shitty AMD one you chose.

Get a GTX 550 ti. Drivers are suited well for BF3, and its fast as fuck.

I can back up your statement. I have this GPU and it runs BF3 on my rig great.

 You really think the manufacturer makes much of a difference?
6870 is much better than a normal 560. Sure they'll run the game, but as I said. If I can fit something better into the budget, then why not?
