With this specs I think your PC is more than enough to run latest game at highest settings.

So you want to run latest games highest settings? Not gonna happen with that rig.
Sure you can run bf3 with that setup, but with medium-high settings at 1600x900 resolution and even then, your gonna get 25-35 fps average.

Thats laptop right? Why?!
Laptops are good for everything else, except gaming...

Should be okay in most cases. I don't think you will be able to run any modern game on the highest settings, however it's still a good laptop.

You probably will need to set the game to medium for best results. The GPU is a tad weak for gaming at highest resolutions.

People buy laptops because they need laptops. Gaming is something that they would also like to do on the side, obviously not very well however they are still capable. No one is going to buy a gaming rig and carry it around with them all the time. People need laptops nowadays.
