Post: Buying a gaming PC :) Recommendations?
07-30-2012, 06:42 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright so I've finally put together $1200 and want to spend it all on a nice gaming desktop. I'm just wondering what you guys would recommend I should buy. Looking for anything that can run games like battlefield 3, skyrim, etc. If it is slightly over my budget that is fine too, I can try putting together a bit more Winky Winky.

Thanks for any help!

Order all the parts and build it yourself, or get a pc shop near you to build it for you. adds up to about $1200 and will play any game on ultra at 60fps

I would beg to differ. I don't think this setup would run something like BF3 on ultra at 60fps. Although overclocking may change that.

Sorry about that I misread the name of the graphics card. Still your pushing it to its max, and most people reach those FPS by overclocking.

the paste is for when you put on your heatsink u scrap off the crappy stuff on the heatsink and add the good stuf, it will help you overclock higher, the gfx card isn't a 670 because i added a ssd to hold your games, os and the 7950 is a crazy awesome gfx card and will play bf3 great

If you are going to overclock, you should probably drop the SSD in favor of a better cooler. (H80) The cooler I have provided should still allow you to overclock, however you aren't going to be hitting anywhere near 4.5GHz since Ivy Bridge is significantly warmer than sandy bridge was.

The 670 is more than capable of running Bf3 on ultra at 60 frames per second. I don't know where you're getting your facts from, but it;s wrong.

How long do you think it will take to build if I get a friend to help me?
