(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, i'm somewhat new to the computer building world and would like to build and purchase one of my own, mainly for gaming and holding all of my music and shit. I would like to play newer games like Arma 2 and 3 (when it comes out), BF3, and Skyrim on high settings if possible, and do so with a budget around $1,000 (including a monitor, keyboard and mouse). since that case is older and bad cooling e especially since you will be getting a high performance graphics card and buying a prebuilt is more expensive than 1 you build yourself. but if u must drop the watercooler to a reg fan that comes with the cpu and get a 7870

+ Get a Intel Ivy Bridge processor if you can. Intel i5 3570k does the job very well you can get good deals on it with a motherboard at microcenter.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to mix what you both said and build the computer myself to help me better understand how its put together and maybe upgrade it later on. I also think I'm gonna go ahead and get the i5 3570k processor as well since building my own pc is saving me a little cash.

Okay, these may be dumb questions (keep in mind I'm new to this), but you don't think i'll have any trouble with the cpu keeping up with the video card? considering its a lot cheaper, i wont have problems with bottlenecking or anything like that? And second, do you have any suggestions on what motherboard I should get with that combination?

no maybe if u had two graphics cards but 1 is great the fx4100 gets alot of hate but i used it before and it holds up great. i used it with a 6870 i built for a friend and it still goes strong. btw the 6200 is alot stronger than a 4100 which is the entry level amd fx cpu

I might just be safe and spend the extra money to get an i5 and a 7870.
