You will run into frame dips on any game at high resolutions like that. The card will probably get like 45 FPS on BF3 with maximum settings using three monitors. Maybe even less in intense situations.

If I have to I can turn the settings down

and edit: personal experience and ownership of a Kepler card, 680 should run cooler then a 560 by almost 20c on average and with the card i linked he should never have heating issues if the case air flow is good (the 560 example is because that card ran very hot like the 480s)

If you read correctly i'm comparing the two as the 680 runs warmer than the 7970 most of the time. Stock settings straight outta the box the 680 DOES perform slightly better 80% of the time ( other cases like the new dirt game is a good example). Push both of them for comparing, the 680 will still be ahead, there is a obvious reason why 3dmark 11 record holders top 20 are all 680's and 690's except for one guy. The 7970 isn't bad but it's fact that 680>7970. /end try not to get to mad bud, it's not life

I'm actually going to buy two 7950's and run them in crossfire. I found a Sapphire 7950 3GB for $300 so I'll get 2 from newegg for like $610 including shipping.

The only downside I see to SLI/Crossfire is that when you're going to upgrade after along time of usage, you than have 2 cards to worry about, where as if you bought a 680 now if you ever wanted more power you simply buy another 680. Anyways that's my view other than that you're gunna get great performance ! good luck !
