Post: Which graphics cards out of the following?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Just built my first rig, being a noob I wasn't entirely sure of everything.
I was suggested a MSI 650 Ti Graphics card. I was told that it would easily play games like BF3 on Ultra, easily. Having got the card, I run 35 FPS average, and sometimes drops to 25ish. This is with full AA on, though.

The store has agreed to refund the price of the card in the form of store credit. Looking to spend around $260 on the new card, perhaps a little more if it's really worth it.

Which graphics card out of the following (only page 4, and maybe 5) should I run with?

I have an ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 motherboard.

Get a 7950 and call it a day. That card will run any game on maximum settings (1080p)it can easily play BF3 on 1920x1200 if you want. But if you have a 1080p monitor, you don't even have to worry about that.

Actually the 7870 will still play BF3 using Ultra settings (1920x1200) @ 60FPS. So you can get that if you want. It's best that you look at the benchmarks here: You must login or register to view this content.

Then decide if the extra money for the 7950 is better.

Here is a benchmark comparing the 650ti to the 7870: You must login or register to view this content.

And here's one comparing the 650ti to the 7950: You must login or register to view this content.

As you can see both the 7870 an the 7950 decimate the 650ti. So it's up to you if you want to spend the extra money on the 7950, or just get the 7870.

You must login or register to view this content. this is a great site for just comparing texture and pixal fill rates along with bandwidth on cards im sure you can clearly see for the money 7950 is a win over the 650 ti your going to need at least a overclocked 660-ti to beat it in rendering textures and using aa settings in games so like millz said get a 7950 call it a day if you have the money the 650-ti isnt worth the money

Sidenote: 7950 has 32rops a 670 has 32 ropes and gets higher pixal fill rate then 7950 but at $90 ish more

Is the 7950 future proof?

There are a hundred cards with 7950 in the name. Can somebody link the correct one from the website I provided? Thank you!

Is that what we're talking about? I'm so new Happy

Also roughly what FPS would I be getting using the 7950? With full AA and everything.

Yes that will work, or you can get this one: You must login or register to view this content.

It's the cheapest in terms of price to quality ratio, and it has excellent cooling.

And yes this card is much more future proof compared to a 660ti because of it's 384-bit bandwidth with 3GB of VRAM, meaning that future games that want more VRAM for textures will be satisfied with the 7950.

It's out of stock :( I've heard bad things about Sapphire anyway! I'll hopefully go get the new card tomorrow. Providing I can do a refund.
