(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); With so many different brands and types of RAM, I'm wondering which direction to go with it.

What I am looking at currently is fairly simple. 16GB of 1600mhz RAM.

I am wondering what is the best direction to go from that. If I were to upgrade from that what would be the best thing to look for, more RAM, faster clock, lower CAS or something I have no idea about?

I don't know much about the different brands of RAM either.

What is the best RAM I can get for $140?

The motherboard it will be for is this

I see that if you go above 1600 it has overclock beside it, can someone explain?

Thanks for the help =)

Edit: It is probably worth mentioning that this machine is more of a general use machine- Not just dedicated to gaming. I don't know how much RAM has to do with encryption and compression based things or with photo and light video editing, but I guess its best to cover all aspects.

why such a expensive motherboard then you need a expensive huge case just get a regualar one for $120 and the OC is for overclock as you can overclock your ram if you didn't know that and light video editting does need 16 you can get away with 8gb

So what should I look for when upgrading? from what I read you say that I shouldnt go for more Gigs. Thoughts on lower CAS vs higher clock speed?

I choose that motherboard because generally it looks good, it has a built in sound card of decent quality, I like the look of the bios, it comes with a wifi/bluetooth adaptor and various other features that the board offers
