(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So. Its come to this. Sadly my laptop has nearly come to an end. With signs of wifi card and motherboard going I guess that its time to start looking for a replacement.

I have no idea of the laptop market at the moment but what I'm looking for is the best I can buy within a budget of $300-500. Ideally lower is better as this is not a performance machine.

I need something that will get me through the next few years. Needs to have enough to play games at low settings and play minecraft (included because its a ram hog from what I remember). and processor enough to do run as much.
Also required to be on windows 7.

Screen size between 13 and 17 inches although I doubt I can get 17 at this price range.

Preference is to avoid acer

Oh yeah, PLEASE be from Canadian market, there is no point looking at something that is on sale in the US and marked up in Canada.

Thanks in advance

in the US you can get a lenovo or so with a gtx card for around 550 so you might want to look for those/spend some more. if gaming i could make you a nice desktop and monitor bundle if you wanted.

The following 2 users say thank you to Toke for this useful post:

You must login or register to view this content. thats a basic rig so when you get money i'd upgrade the cpu to a ivy bridge i5 then add ram it should play your games decently

How is the quality for the lenovo?

Also this is specifically a laptop because I use computers on the go alot. Trying to keep price low because I'm saving for a new gaming rig too You must login or register to view this content. And because I know one of you guys would point out that it is over priced for what it is (I know I would) there are various reasons for choosing that setup.

Regardless. what would be a good series by lenovo to look into?
Any alternatives to look at?

its not just for gaming. its a gaming workstation Awesome face maybe I should have said so at first. If it were just for gaming I would have probably gone for an 8350 and a 7950 or 660ti
Either way, I will have enough money next month hopefully and will update build as needed. Haswell doesn't come out until june. hard drives are constantly changing (looking forward to the Raidr's release date), and graphics cards, the nvidia solutions sound to be coming sometime in q3, and the amd OEMs in q2. Personally I hope the newer cards coming fast to bring down the 600 series price. The way I see it is that a mid-high end graphics card will last about2-3 years before becoming obsolete. As far as the switch goes- you have to have a stunning case. Its the thing that you look at physically. I was going to go with a 600t but as it happens my friend has it which ruins the originality (plus the usb3.0 past through sucks....) If you have any other good looking cases that can fit a double 140mm rad for a better price, I would be very interested in hearing.
I would go with a fractal design but they're just a bit too plain for my liking (on something worth showing off)
