Anyway, I am wanting to upgrade my Acer Aspire v5 Touch Screen laptop from its original 750gb HDD to a 1tb one, I already purchased the HDD and I know its compatible, anyway I have no idea how to go about it. I mean, I don't wish to keep any files at all, nothing, I've backed everything I want up already. Anyway, I'm just wondering as this laptop came pre-loaded with Windows 8, I'm just worried about all the drivers and what not, is there a way to back them up? And how do I re-install windows 8? Since it came pre-loaded I don't have a disk for it, I just have the Windows 8 key on the bottom of the laptop, anyway its quite the nooby question but that's why I'm here in the troubleshooting section, cheers.

You can use a program call driver genius to download all your missing drivers. I've used that when I installed windows 7 on my laptop. I'm pretty sure there is an option where you can back up your drivers also.

Foirst you need to clarify if you have already got

Either a Windows OS disc
or an ACER recovery disc

you will need one or the other

if oyu have the acer recovery disc all drivers will install as part of the build
if you have Windows Os then you will need to install your OS then teh drivers for your installed HW (Hardware)

Make a note of your Acer Aspire model number, Make sure you have either a Acer recovery OS disc, or a standalone OS disc. If the system did come pre-installed with windows 8 than you will need the Recovery disk that came with the laptop to do a fresh installation.
The disc should have all needed drivers when the system re-installs on the new internal HDD. Worst case you can dot down the Acer Aspire model number, and visit the Acer support webpage and manually download the correct drivers for you hardware.

I have to say though, why did you buy a 1TB HD? If it was disk failure I can understand, but generally a external usb HDD is far more practical and generally can be cheaper too.
