definitely get the gtx 660 ti.
if you cant save up for a 670,
thats your best bet, and you could probably run 60 fps at not ultra, but somewhere near there.
and if your not running on an ssd, i'd get one of those too.

The CPU is decent enough until DDR4 motherboards and CPUs come around in my opinion. You've not mentioned your memory or PSU but they're probably okay for the time being. So yeah, a video card. For £200+ I'd usually recommend a 7950 with good cooling however there don't seem to be any good deals with those at the moment (late November/early December is best for these deals).

Right now based upon current prices I'd get either of these 7870s: You must login or register to view this content. or You must login or register to view this content..

You may not need a new power supply. Do you know the make and model of your current one?

I don't believe there is one. Disconnect your PC from the mains, open it up and look for a sticker on the power supply. That should give you something to work with.

Also why would he get an SSD if his HDD already has his OS on it.
I have a 670 btw pixie and get 100+ fps on bf3 on ultra with everything on. rarely dips under 60, and when it does it only goes to around 53-55 and that's under graphics heavy scenes like a lot of fire n stuff
