I really like both computers and I love the idea that I can programming apps for iOS in case I pick up the macbook pro but the specs from the alienware are just brutal.
P.D. Dont tell me about building a pc because I already have a desktop one and I need a laptop
I would say it's down to the pice. Also they are both great computers but If it was me I would pick the MacBook Pro.
Alienware is cheaper $1700 and Macbook $1800, but why would you pick up the mac? I mean the OSX is great but everything apart from that Alienware beats it.
I knew some ppl will say search for other ones, but I´m not asking if you prefer others apart from MacBook pro and alienware, I asked which one is better Macbook or Alienware.
I may get the Macbook 15" 512gb, 16gb Ram and 2gb Nvidia

Well that means they are saying they both are bad?
Alright, from my point of view, if you got the cash to shell out, I'd get the Alienware.
You're right on the specs, the Alienware just smashes the MacBook.
Macs, all they really got going for them is Unix and Final Cut programs and stuff like that. The Alienware I'm sure will run a lot faster, and you may not want to play on it as much, but it's the idea of actually being able to pull it out and play BF4 on high settings or better... While the MacBook is at low, on BF3. lol
As long as you know how to control your virus' and downloading, and don't need to edit videos, go with the alienware.
(Opinion coming from a person who hates both brands lol)

Cheers guys.
I always wanted to buy a alienware as the specs beat everything as far as the pricing goes, but instead i bought myself a macbook pro 13' which is portable, best in quality, light in weight and one can use both mac and windows 7 or 8 on it. I love the macbook pro as its perfect for everything i do, i can use the Microsoft office for mac on it for my college, i can use the X-code on it for building ios apps and i can use visual studios on my parallels windows 7 partition so i can make windows apps/tools. So if i was not a person looking to play stupid games on my laptop i would go with the mac otherwise i would stick with alienware.
