(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, I have an old PC with and I would like to upgrade my graphics card. My price range is $100 and something that doesn't take up too much power. My PC is 250W. I was thinking about the AMD Radeon R7 250. What else do you think I can get instead of that? Thanks in advance!

The more CUDA cores and the more core clock and base clock, the better the video card. Period. The GPU will process much more information if one card has more than the other. MAKE SURE that the video card will fit into one of your pci ports and is compatible with your motherboard.

For the power supply your gonna need to look at the newer and older graphics card's power usage and find the difference to see how much more power consumption your power supply is gonna need. Now add that difference to the current power supply and get a newer one at that same wattage or higher. Having a lot of wattage left over is not the problem but the exact opposite.

Example:

current GPU power usage: 50w
current PSU wattage: 250w

newer GPU power usage: 350w

added power consumption = 350w - 50w = 300w.

needed PSU wattage = 250w+ 300w = 550w or higher.

I'd get the 280x and sell it for like $200 as u would need a bigger case PSU and CPU to power it, if you want to get it and sell your reg PC and some other things and build a pull rig u can as the rest of a PC would only be $400 or so and you would have high end pc
