never buy toshiba and also buy a good insurance one that cover everything I bought a toshiba l50 i7 gforce760m motherboard die in 6 months I was so happy that I bought a good insurance with it asus is crap also I will recomend lenovon or dell and always gaming laptop Winky Winky with a good graphics card

Actually it depends on your requests and especially on things you goona do with it...work,gaming etc...

Go with something durable and compact, and make sure you don't buy an HP laptop. They're crap with build quality imo.

So much bad advise here.

Asus are the best and so are gigabyte and msi if your getting a gaming computer. but if your doing that get a desktop not a laptop.
If your just plain browsing get any laptop you want walk into a store and try lots out.

Lenovo, MSI, or ASUS for gaming laptops.

For the price you're paying for a gaming laptop, you can get a gaming desktop that will perform a lot better. Laptops also have very poor cooling, and there's not much room for upgrades except for storage drives and RAM.

Not only that but if he isn't playing games on it then I would suggest a windows tablet from dell or HP. You can get really decent ones for under $200.

Or just a chromebook. Those samsung ultrabooks kickass for $200
