i dont know much about gpu as i've always been a console gamer, im currently running this gpu

AMD FX-8320 CPU
ASUS M5A99 PRO 2.0
8GB RAM
EVGA 500W PSU

im still on the stock cpu cooler atm, will be going the custom loop water cooler in the near future
looking to spend < $150 , if anyone has a recommended GPU for that price lmk

I would wait for AMD's new line of gpu's coming as there might be something good for that price point.

alright, thanks for the heads up, im in no hurry to buy as there hasnt been a game i must play yet on pc..

right now your best bet is a 750ti 2gb because of low power and form factor, also for a little more a r9 280 is even better but you need a bigger power supply. the 730 is junk, id get a 750ti 2gb and call it a day, it will be nice for gaming and will play 99% of games well on high and ultra

1080p or 1440p?

Guessing 1080p off the top of my head 260/270/280, think 280 is the right card :p

Edit

PSU going to cause issues may need a 700 series card say 750

R9 270X, nuff said.

260X if you want to save money. 260X is pretty much 750 TI, but cheaper.

can always upgrade psu since they're not that expensive
