(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I recently ordered the Acer Aspire 17.3 Inch Laptop with Intel Quad-Core up to 2.66GHz Processor and 4GB RAM,500GB Hard Drive,DVD-RW Optical Drive,Windows 8.1 (64-bit) (Certified Refurbished). I wanted to know if this was a good PC for modding, surfing the web, recording videos and commentaries with the HD PVR 2 and also making graphics with photoshop? I simply just need a fast PC that can multi task. I ordered this one and just wanted to know some opinions on how I did for my requirements. You must login or register to view this content. . I'm not looking for something that's $1,000 or something that's perfect I just want something that's a great speed and allows me to do the things I wanna do without a problem.

smh the toshiba has a stronger cpu, clock speeds aren't everything neither is core count i mean ps4s got 8 and still suck dick, the i5 has better graphics built onto the chip and better cpu architecture and is more power efficient. it also has better onboard graphics a bigger hardrive and more ram and isn't a shitty acer that will fall apart in a week

As I said above in the post, I'm not looking for anything perfect. You're telling me that all of these things are better on the laptop you linked me to when I said on the post that I don't need anything perfect wise. Just need something to do the things above. If the speed on the PC is good and it can multi task then I don't care about all the shit you said above. I just wanted to know if I could complete the things above. CPU, Processor etc... Their all great on this laptop I bought .. But their not perfect. However I shouldn't run into problems while they're being used either. Just because something is old doesn't mean it's bad. When the creator released the CPU, Processor etc.. They put just as much work into it as they put into the new development of a more advanced processor and CPU etc... So just because the processor isn't the latest one doesn't mean it won't be good while in use. . Anyone can say another laptop is better then another one.. I can say the Alienware is way better then the Toshiba if I wanted to smh, But the point is that either way it's still a powerful computer when being used.. But their is just better PC's out their that can do alot more if I was looking for something incredible.Oh and by the way you said the "i5 has better graphics built onto the chip" as if I'm a pc gamer. I game on PS3 and PS4. The graphics on the laptop I bought is HD resolution. I don't need better graphics if I'm not a PC gamer... Just saying. A Acer doesn't fall apart in a week.. if you're using it properly also Toshiba's are ass in my opinion.

I'm only using it for surfing the web, photoshop, desktop applications and that's probably it.. It's not like I'm trying to do PC gaming with it.

Windows 8.1 on most laptops from my experience with anything under 8GB of ram has been the worst piece of shit I have ever used in my life.

If you upgrade the RAM and downgrade to Windows 7, you should get pretty reasonable speeds. If you don't upgrade the RAM, I'd still suggest downgrading to W7.

For recording videos etc, you're probably going to be using some intensive software to record and edit, so again, your RAM is probably your biggest hit back here.

Not really sure about that, we have CS5 and CS6 running on some Surface Pros and they run it really well. Well photoshop at least.

Pentium + 4GB of RAM. This laptop is a basic student laptop. Browse the web, write essays, make powerpoints.

Good luck with any sort of recording/rendering. I'm not sure how a photo editing program will do on a Pentium. I can't really say since I've never owned a Pentium. The lowest-end processor I've ever used a photo editing program on was a desktop i3. But my guess is that that mobile Pentium should be able to run GIMP fairly easily. Photoshop can be opened, but it will probably be laggy.

Your laptop is going to struggle to do the things you said you wanted to do. 2.20 GHz vs 2.66 GHz isn't a big difference, I don't know why you think that number matters. An i5 compared to a Pentium, now that's the big difference you should've looked at. It's clear you don't know much about PC hardware and how they work.

I assume you spent around $600-800 on this laptop and for that price could of had a much better pc built.
