i think i have upto £500to spend, and i would like to make the most out of it.

I would multi-tasking etc and do school work ...
And ofcourse want it to be fast...



So yeah what ideas have you got ?

Well their very evenly matched. I would probably get whichever is the cheaper. The HP has a better processor, but I believe the Acers video card is better if you plan on playing a lot of games. Also HP customer support is horrible, if something goes wrong with it your pretty much out of luck unless you blew money on a warranty.

You should look into a Compaq presario. i've had one for a year and a half, i've dropped it, and been really rough with it, and it's still a champ! i've got the c700 and since i got it a year ago at 450 i'm sure it's much cheaper now. i'm actually trading mine in for an hp. looks like a good comp. but it's about 600 otherwise i'd recommend that one too.
