well depending on the server size and mods you will want a desktop as minecraft can be ram hungry. but if your only playing crapcraft then u want an i7 cpu and lots of ram at least 16 the gpu dont matter as much

I would recommend you buy a pc. In long term the logical solution would be to buy a one. A laptop can only do so much. If your a long gaming session type of person you will find your computer at such a temp you can boil noodles over it.

with that much to spend there are alot of good i7 core laptops , dont go with alienware their expensive by the name brand id search up some asus ROG laptops for that price and see if that fits your standards
