The next iteration of the PSP will not feature 3D technology, according to Sony Worldwide Studios VP Scott Rohde.

In an interview with the folks at IndustryGamers, Rohde spoke about 3D in the next PSP. He said, “No, no plans for that.”

When pushed about rumors of a PSP2, he said “It’s just not something we’re announcing right now. It’s just as simple as that.”

This comes as a bit of a surprise given that Sony is making the biggest push out of all three gaming companies for 3D. Many believe Nintendo’s 3DS was the biggest highlight at E3, then again, a lot of other people were most excited about Kevin Butler’s appearance.
